About ServiceDogCards

A small company that makes one thing: a digital service dog ID card that lives in your phone's wallet, and the guides that help handlers understand their rights.

Who's behind it

ServiceDogCards is a small, independent company founded by Johnny Karson. The same small team builds the product, handles support, runs the free veteran program, and writes and updates every guide on this site. There is no content farm and no outsourced editorial team. If a page is wrong, we fix it.

You can reach us through support.

What the card is, and what it isn't

Under the Americans with Disabilities Act, no ID, certificate, or registration is required for a service dog, and no company can "register" one with the government. We say that on the card itself, on the certificate, and on every page of this site.

What the card does is practical. It puts your dog's photo, your name, a unique ID number and a QR verification page in the same wallet as your boarding pass, so the conversation at the door ends faster. Thousands of handlers use it for exactly that reason.

How the guides are researched

  • Federal rules come from the primary sources: the ADA regulations at ada.gov, the Department of Transportation's Air Carrier Access Act rules, and HUD's assistance animal guidance.
  • State pages cite the statute by section so you can read the law yourself. Where a state has no specific statute, the page says so instead of inventing one.
  • Every article shows its last updated date. When a rule changes, the page is revised and the date moves.
  • Nothing here is legal advice. For a specific dispute, talk to a disability rights attorney or your state's protection and advocacy agency.

Reviews and pricing

Reviews on this site come from customers who bought a card and are published as written, including the critical ones. See them all on the reviews page. The card is a one-time $19.99 with no renewals, and it is free for U.S. veterans.
